First Time Shooting a Car Meet as a Pro – OM System OM‑1

I’m heading to my first car meet as a professional photographer, and I’m bringing you along for the journey. This will be my first time shooting a car meet in a fully “pro” mindset, from preparation to final images, using the OM System OM‑1 in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.

Car meet photography has always interested me because it blends portraits, details, and fast‑moving action into one event. In this blog and the connected YouTube content, I’ll be sharing how I get ready for the meet, how I approach cars and owners, and what I look for when I’m trying to tell a story with each photo.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be releasing a series of short videos that follow this experience from start to finish. I’ll cover things like composition choices, angles that work well for different types of cars, and how I adapt my settings on the OM System OM‑1 as the light and environment change.

If you’re into car meet photography, thinking about shooting your first event as a professional, or you just enjoy seeing how a photographer works in real situations, this series is for you. Stick around here on the blog and on my YouTube channel to follow the full journey.
